I thought the idea was that you did hear sounds, like the creaking of the wood, the audience rustling, coughing, pages turning… a lot of noises, but not from the strings?

For many years my teachers put me through 8 grades of music, Performance Certificate, and half a course of Bachelor of Music, and not once did they ever tell me I could pass my exams using this piece. Now I'll have to sue them for all the hours of practice they put me through. LOL. (Just joking)
